How to Use K18 for Bleached Hair (What Worked for Me)

My K18 Hair Routine for Bleached Hair

This isn’t a step-by-step routine. It’s what I’ve landed on after trying enough of it to stop guessing.

I didn’t set out to try this many K18 products. It just happened over time. At a certain point, it stopped being about whether K18 works and started being about if I actually use it.

I’ve had consistent success with their products. I notice less hair in the drain, and my hair feels more stable between washes. Not perfect, just easier to deal with.

There are four K18 products I keep in rotation and actually reach for.

Best Dry Shampoo for Non-Wash Days | K18 AirWash Dry Shampoo

This is my favorite K18 product.

I don’t wash my hair every day, so I need something that can stretch it without making things worse. Sometimes it’s a light refresh. Sometimes it’s a super duper.

This is the only dry shampoo I’ve used that doesn’t feel like it’s sitting on top of my scalp. No aerosol, no heavy residue, no obvious buildup. It just makes my hair feel normal again.

Shake it before you use it. It matters.

Shampoo for Thick, Color-Treated Hair | K18 Damage Shield Protective Shampoo

This is the shampoo I reach for the most right now.

I wash my hair about every two days, and I do rotate shampoos depending on the season, but this one stays in the mix. The biggest thing I had to learn was to use less. I was using way too much in the beginning.

Once I adjusted that, it just worked. Clean without stripping, which is all I really want.

Best Conditioner for Long, Bleached Hair | K18 Damage Shield Protective Conditioner

If you have long, thick bleached hair, this makes sense pretty quickly.

Same situation here. A little goes a long way. I recommend starting with a small amount and working your way up to more if your hair needs it. If I do too much, my hair can feel heavy. This is the conditioner I use most consistently across seasons without really thinking about it.

Over time, I noticed less hair in the drain and on my brush. That’s usually how I measure if something is working or not.

In my experience, using both the shampoo and conditioner has given me consistently nice results.

K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask

I use K18’s Hair Mask as prep before a hair appointment and as extra love and care immediately after a blonding session.

Olaplex used to be all the rage back in the day. I had a bad experience with their customer care and I remember thinking, why isn’t there a similar comparable product?

It took a moment, but this hair mask became available to the general public. The hair gods have blessed me.

I don’t overuse this. I use it when my hair actually needs it. Before and after color, when I know I’ve pushed it a little too far.

The K18 peptide repairs broken keratin chains, which improves the overall health of your hair. I don’t think about that too deeply, I just know what the drain says.

I consider this the breath of fresh hair (LOL) that bleach blondes need.

My Final Thoughts on K18

Being Medium Maintenance means I can reach for something and trust it to do what I need it to do.

I’m not trying new things every week. I’m trying to make what I already do work better and last longer, stretching my buck without compromising quality.

If you’re investing in blonde hair, the goal isn’t perfection. It’s consistency.

This is what consistency looks like for me right now.
